Photo/Paragraph
This photo demonstrates the impulse momentum theorem. In a collision, an object experiences a force, acting for a certain amount of time and which is known as an impulse; it serves to change the momentum of an object. In this photo, Dinah the dog is on her back tossing a toy up in the air with her mouth. When this picture is captured, she has just caught the toy in her mouth. The toy is experiencing a force from Dinah's mouth only for a short period of time because after this picture is taken, she throws it back up in the air again. Dinah's mouth serves as the change of momentum for the toy in this photo. If not for Dinah's mouth, the toy would be free falling after Dinah tosses it at 9.81 m/s/s.
