Luminous vs. Illuminated
This is a photo of a light bulb and my table. This demonstrates the concept of luminous versus Illuminated. When something is luminous, it lights it's self-up. In other words it creates its own energy to make itself visible. An object that is illuminated is being lit up by something that is luminous so that it can be seen by the human eye. In this photo, the light bulb is luminous and the table is illuminated. The light bulb is lighting up the table so that it can be seen.
